The London Police Service and the London Fire Department investigated several fires that occurred between November 2013 and March 2014. A London man has been identified in relation to fires that were set to garbage bins, recycle bins, discarded couches and mattresses that were on the properties between 1126 and 1154 Adelaide Street North. On one occasion, the contents within a garbage bin were attempted to be set on fire, with no success.
No injuries were sustained from the fires that caused a total of approximately $1,700 damage.
On Thursday, April 3, 2014, 21-year-old Brandon Woodward was charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– 16 counts of arson, causing property damage, contrary to section 434; and
– attempt to commit a dual procedure offence, contrary to section 463(d).
Brandon Woodward was released from custody on Friday, April 4 with a court date scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
