(LAKESHORE, ON) — At 8:15am on today’s date, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene of a motor vehicle crash at Essex County Road 42 and Comber Side Road in Lakeshore.
The crash involved a motorcycle and a dump truck. The driver of the motorcycle, a 68 year old Chatham man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to area hospital. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The White Sterling dump truck was eastbound on County road 42 making a left hand turn when it crossed the path of the westbound Honda Gold Wing motorcycle.
Essex County Road 42 is closed at Comber side road, and the motoring public is asked to avoid the area while officers investigate the scene. The Public is asked to use Rochester Townline and Gracie Sideroad to avoid the area.
The OPP Technical Traffic Investigators are on scene and the investigation is ongoing. The roadway will be closed until 1:00pm.
