Drunk Driver In Owen Sound Has Licence Suspended For 90 Days

A 32 Year old male from Tara was charged with impaired driving by Owen Sound Police last evening.

At around 6:30 p.m. police were called by a motorist reporting that a vehicle had left the roadway at 6 th Ave East and 15 th Street East. The caller had conversation with the driver and believed him to be intoxicated by alcohol. Police arrived to find the driver attempting to free his vehicle from a snow bank.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and transported to the station where breath tests were conducted by a Breath Technician. The test results revealed that the driver had a blood alcohol limit of more than double the legal limit. His vehicle was impounded for seven days and his licence was suspended for 90 days under provincial legislation. He will appear in court March 7 th to answer to the charges of impaired operation and operation with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
