Impaired Driver Collides with Residence

Shortly after 0730hrs on October 23rd, 2016 Chatham-Kent Emergency Units responded to a single vehicle collision in the city of Chatham. A pick-up truck driven by a 37 year old Chatham man collided with the attached garage of a residence causing heavy damage. Upon attending the scene Chatham-Kent Police arrested the man for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and he was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide a breath sample. The man registered .228 and .235 Blood Alcohol; almost four times the legal limit.

The man was further charged with Drive Over 80ml of Alcohol in Blood. Damage is estimated at $80,000 and no persons were injured.

Noise Complaint Revealed Assault

During the evening of October 22nd, 2016 Chatham-Kent Police received a noise complaint in the city of Chatham. Upon attending several teenagers fled the area. An 18 year old Male was located laying on the ground in an intoxicated state. The man stated he had been assaulted by an unknown person and suffered minor injuries. EMS attended and took the man to Public General Hospital for precautionary reasons. This matter is currently under investigation.

Man Arrested on Warrants

On October 22nd, 2016 members of the Chatham-Kent Police located a 33 year old Chatham man wanted on eight counts of Breaching Probation. The man was processed at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and released with a future court date.

Missing Person Located

On October 22nd , 2016 Chatham-Kent Police in conjunction with Waterloo Regional Police were able to locate a 16 year old Blenheim Girl that had been declared missing. Chatham-Kent Police obtained a possible address in Waterloo and Waterloo Regional Police were able to locate the youth and confirm her condition.

The youth was located in Waterloo at a safe address and was not in distress or in need of Police intervention.
