(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a La Salette Road, Windham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Saturday, August 13, 2016 at approximately 5:49 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving an off road motorcycle.
Through the course of investigation, it has been determined that a grey coloured pickup truck struck a dirt bike that was riding across a farmer’s field. As a result of the collision the operator of the dirt bike, a 23-year-old male of Norfolk County, Ontario was ejected and suffered serious non-life threatening injuries.
He was subsequently transported by paramedics to a local area hospital for treatment.
As a result of investigation, police have charged 35-year-old Michael James BINDER of Norfolk County, Ontario with care or control over 80mgs, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Technical Traffic Collision Investigators assisted with the investigation.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
