(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On January 27, 2016 at 3:08 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of an motor vehicle in the ditch on Highway 11 approximately 20 kilometers east of Atikokan.
Officers located the motor vehicle near Highway 11 and 11B, in the Township of Atikokan. The driver, Darcy FOSTER, age 50 of Couchiching First Nation was showing signs of impairment. He was arrested and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests. The motor vehicle was impounded for the mandatory seven days. The driver was subsequently charged with,
impaired operation of a motor vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
driving with more than 80 milligrams blood alcohol content contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
He will appear in Atikokan Provincial Court on April 13, 2016.
