Drunk Driver Arrested In St. Marys

(ST. MARYS, ON) -A traffic complaint made by an alert citizen in the Town of St. Marys assisted the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with locating a suspected impaired driver shortly before 4:00 p.m., on October 16, 2018.

The motorist was travelling on Huron Street in the Town of St. Marys where he was stopped by a member of the Perth County OPP. Through investigation, grounds were formed that the driver had consumed alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and transported to an OPP detachment for further testing.

Sixty-five-year old David TAYLOR of the Town of St. Marys was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Driving while ability impaired-motor vehicle (alcohol);

Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood

The motor vehicle was towed and impounded, and a driving suspension was imposed. He was later released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
