Drunk Driver Arrested After Collision At Port Albert Beach – Name Released

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A 54-year-old male driver is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol following an incident that took place at the Port Albert Beach. On July 21, 2016 at 3:41 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call from a witness that watched a possible impaired driver attempt to park his Mazda 6 at the Port Albert Beach however the driver ended up colliding with a parked ATV.

Officers arrived on scene and located the driver of the Mazda nearby his vehicle. Upon speaking with the male driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been consuming some alcohol and he was displaying several signs of impairment. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest for impaired driving.

He was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both of his samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 54-year-old Bartley PUTT from Strathroy-Caradoc Township has been charged with Impaired Driving & Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 12, 2016. He was served with a 90 day automatic driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was sent to the impound for seven days.
