Drunk Driver Arrested After Collision

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On November 17, 2015, at 4:50 p.m. officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Shortreed Road and King’s Highway 11 in Watten Township.

After speaking with the driver, determined the driver had been drinking. The driver Kathleen PEDERSON , age 51 of Fort Frances was subsequently arrested. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days. The driver was transported to Fort Frances Detachment and subsequently charged with Driving while Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Milliliters of Blood following the results of Breathalyzer tests.

PEDERSON will appear in Fort Frances Court on December 14, 2015 to answer to the charge
