(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Sunday, April 26, 2015 at approximately 1:27 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Grey Rd. 9 and Grey Rd. 8 in the Township of Southgate.
A 2001 Saturn vehicle nearly struck an officer standing at the R.I.D.E. spot check as the driver drove through the R.I.D.E. check point. Police stopped the suspect vehicle a short distance away and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.
Larry W. BRYAN, 37, of the Township of Southgate, was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80 mgs.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, May 14, 2015.
There were no injuries reported.
