Drunk Driver 4X Legal Limit Arrested On Selwyn Road

(SELWYN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 complaint about a possible impaired driver on Selwyn Road shortly before 3:30pm yesterday afternoon.

The 44 year old male operator of a vehicle from Selwyn, ON was located in Bridgenorth; he was arrested and charged with:

Care and control of a vehicle while impaired

Care and control of a vehicle with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood

The Peterborough County OPP would like to commend the complainant who called 911 to report this very dangerous situation. It is alleged that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration of the driver was almost four times the legal limit allowed in Ontario. Responding officers believe that a tragic outcome was certainly avoided thanks to the public support in this occurrence.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, ON March 30, 2017.
