(LAMBTON, ON) – On Wednesday April 27th, 2016 at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complainant from a concerned motorist of a possible impaired driver traveling southbound on 21 Highway, just north of the Town of Forest, Ontario.
A description of the suspect motor vehicle was provided to the Lambton OPP, who responded to the location, and quickly located the suspect motor vehicle. The officer observed the vehicle being operated in what appeared to be an erratic manner and conducted a traffic stop.
Police made contact with the female driver and shortly after formed the opinion that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. The female driver was consequently arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP – Forest Detachment for breath testing which resulted in readings over three times the legal limit.
As a result, 50 year-old, Janice Lynn SVRCEK of Sarnia, ON was charged with:
Driving While Ability Impaired
Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood
The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday May 16th, 2016.
The OPP is reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol or other drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. Impaired driving remains the leading cause of criminal death in Canada.
