On the 5th of March 2014, shortly after 11pm, Police were on patrol in the cities south end when they observed a male exit a southend establishment and stagger towards his vehicle. As police entered the lot, the male was entering the driverside of the vehicle in an attempt to start it.
Police began investigating the male and could smell a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The male had extremely slurred speech and had a glazed look on his face when talking to police.
The investigating officer arrested the male for impaired care and control and transported him to the Barrie Police Station where he provided a sample of his breath for analysis. The male ended up being three and a half times over the legal limit.
The 30 year old Barrie male was held until sober and later released with a court date towards the end of March.
