(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On March 25, 2014 members of the Combined Forces Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and uniformed members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at an Armit Street North residence in Fort Frances, ON.
Carl MEECHES, age 47 of Fort Frances, ON, Alexzander BARTLETT, age 20 of Winnipeg, MB and Jonathon MYRAN, age 42 of Winnipeg, Manitoba were arrested and charged with:
1) Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
MEECHES and BARTLETT are scheduled for a first appearance court date on May 5, 2014 in Fort Frances, ON. MYRAN remains in custody pending a court appearance on March 28, 2014 in Fort Frances, ON
Police seized a total of 555 grams of Marihuana with a street value of $11,100, and $1830 in Canadian Currency.
The OCEB consists of members from the Ontario Provincial Police – Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Thunder Bay Police Service, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and the Anishinabek Police Service.
