On December 21st 2013 at approximately 10:23pm Waterloo Regional Police stopped a motor vehicle during a RIDE program and became aware of the smell of marihuana. While assessing the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle, police observed marihuana in plain view. A 30 year old male from Cambridge was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. During a subsequent search of the vehicle incident to arrest, a quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine were also discovered as well as scales, cell phones, money, debt list and packaging bags. The driver was charged with three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Proceeds of Crime. The driver was held for a bail hearing. The motor vehicle was towed.
