During the evening hours on Wednesday August 27, members of the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit commenced a drug investigation at the request of the North Bay Police Service.
Officers conducted surveillance on a south end business parking lot and observed two males engage in a drug transaction in the lot. Officers arrested two males at the scene without incident. A 55 year old North Bay resident was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. A 44 year old Toronto resident was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. Both men were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police seized a quantity of what is believed to be powder cocaine and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $7100,00.
