Drug Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests

In the month of August 2014, the Guelph Police Services Drug Enforcement Unit became involved in an investigation into the trafficking of crystal methamphetamine within the city of Guelph. Observations made by police confirmed the belief that drug trafficking was taking place thus the investigation concluded on August 28, 2014.

On August 28, 2014 two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants were applied for and granted for two residences on Plymouth Court.

The following was seized as a result of the search warrants conducted:

17.49 grams of crystal methamphetamine (street value $1749)
24 Oxycodone pills – 20mg, 5mg, 1mg (street value $245)
28 Morphine pills – 20mg, 8mg, 3mg (street value $195)
3.06 grams of marihuana
6 prohibited weapons (taser, 4 spring assisted jack knives, butterfly knife)
$2,235 in Canadian currency
A police style baton was also seized
A 45 year old Guelph male has been charged with possession CDSA, unauthorized possession of weapon (2 counts), possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order (6 counts) and breach of undertaking.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 29, 2014.

A 42 year old Guelph female has been charged with possession for the purpose (3 counts), possession CDSA, possession of weapon (4 counts) and breach probation.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 29, 2014.

A 39 year old Guelph male has been charged with possession for the purpose (3 counts), possession CDSA, possession of a weapon (4 counts) and possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order (4 counts).

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 29, 2014.

A 15 year old Guelph male has been charged with possession for the purpose and possession of a weapon.

He will appear in court on October 8, 2014.

A 15 year old Guelph male has been charged with possession CDSA.

He will appear in court on October 8, 2014.
