Perth County OPP were conducting RIDE Programs this weekend and came across two drug offences. The first was on the 07 may at 2:30 P/M on Perth Line 20 in Fullarton Ward where the vehicle was stopped at the RIDE Check and the Officer could detect a strong odour of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle, a further investigation was conducting and police seized 6.5 grams of suspected cannabis marijuana from the driver. Police charged a 50 year old Cambridge male as a result of the incident.
In the second incident which occurred on the 08 May at 10:50 P/M on Wallace Ave. in Listowel a vehicle was stopped in a RIDE Program and as a result of a search of the vehicle, police seized 79 grams of suspected cannabis marijuana and have charged a 20 year old Mitchell man for possession of a controlled substance. Police will continue to conduct RIDE Programs throughout the summer months.
