(Quinte West, On.) – On Monday the 30th day of September 2013 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Belleville City Police Drug Unit, and members of the Quinte West OPP Detachment executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant at 90 Creswell Dr. Trenton Ward, City of Quinte West.
A search of the residence revealed drugs, cash and cell phones. As a result police seized a quantity of cocaine, marihuana, and prescription drugs worth approximately $2,000. Police also seized more than $1,100 in cash and numerous cell phones. Two people were arrested at the scene.
Robert DENT 32, and Toshia DOWNS 34, both of Quinte West have been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in marihuana, and prescription medication. DENT has further been charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
DENT was held in custody pending a bail hearing on the 1st day of October 2013. DOWNS was released from custody with a court date on October 31.
The investigation was led by officers from the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau.
