(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On March 7, 2016 at approximately 8:12 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with assistance of the East Algoma Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), the Sudbury Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and K9 Unit executed a drug warrant at a residence on Spruce Avenue in Elliot Lake.
One male and female were arrested at the scene and charged. The following was seized; cannabis marihuana, cannabis resin (hash oil), clonazepam pills, scales and Canadian currency.
Charged with the following is Craig Randal BURLEY (32) of Elliot Lake.
Possession of a Schedule ll substance for the purpose of Trafficking – under 3kg as per sec. 5(2) of the Controlled and Substance Act of Canada
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000.00 as per sec. 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Charged with the following is Darlene JAMES (41) of Elliot Lake.
Possession of a Schedule ll substance for the purpose of Trafficking – under 3kg as per sec. 5(2) of the Controlled and Substance Act of Canada
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000.00 as per sec. 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Both accused are scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on May 3, 2016.
