(POINT EDWARD, ON) The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has teamed up with the Point Edward Police Services Board to provide a free community information session related to drug abuse on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Point Edward Community Hall located at 210 Monk Street in the Village of Point Edward.
The abuse of illegal and prescription drugs continues to be a problem in the Sarnia-Lambton area. It is important for parents and children to understand the immediate and long-term impacts that drug use can have on individuals, families and communities.
OPP Constables Jeff Hardie and Chrystal Jones will discuss various types of illegal and prescription drugs. They will also talk about the effects drugs have on the user and how any kind of drug abuse creates other social problems and victimization in our communities.
This session is free and is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Some of the visual aids used during the presentation are graphic and may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.
Pre-registration would be appreciated but is not required. For more information, or to register, please contact the Point Edward Municipal Office at 519-337-3021.
