(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On September 23, 2016 at approximately 2:28 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police received a call from a property owner advising that he had located two large duffel bags containing marihuana plants in his field near Wellington Road 4 in the Town of Minto.
Officers attended the property and while speaking with the complainant, 2 males were observed running into the bush then into an adjoining cornfield.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit attended the scene and joined the search with the assistance of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Police located four separate marihuana grow plots planted in the cornfield. The suspects were not located however officers seized approximately 300 mature marihuana plants.
