(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On October 19, 2014, just before midnight, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a complaint of a Mitsubishi SUV driving erratically on Highway 401 eastbound near Kent Bridge Road.
Chatham-Kent OPP officers located the vehicle parked on the shoulder of the highway. While officers were speaking with the driver, 34 year old Colin MACDONALD, from Aurora, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.
Further investigation also revealed that the driver was in possession of a small amount of suspected marihuana.
Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and he will appear in a Chatham court on November 7, 2014, to answer to the following charges:
Care or Control While Impaired, under the Criminal Code of Canada
Care or Control Over 80 mgs, under the Criminal Code of Canada
Possession of Marihuana, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
