(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Two separate vehicle stops conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in racing charges.
On September 5, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 135 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 35 near Fleetwood Road. The male driver, from Oshawa, was charged with racing, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). His driver’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on October 14, 2014.
On September 6, 2014 an OPP officer observed a vehicle being operated on Highway 35 near Ballyduff Road at 139 km/h in an 80 km/h zone and subsequently stopped the vehicle. The driver, Julian KOEHLER-LEES, 22 years of age, of Kitchener, was charged with racing a motor vehicle, contrary to the HTA. His driver’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on October 14, 2014.
