(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On July 10, 2016 at approximately 8:49 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Grey Rd. 112 in the Municipality of Meaford.
Upon arrival, police observed a damaged 2011 Kia Sportage as a result of it crashing into a hydro pole which was severed at the base. The lone driver was found to be impaired by drug. He was transported to hospital for minor injuries and released. He was arrested and brought to the Meaford OPP Detachment where he was evaluated by a qualified Drug Recognition Evaluator.
26-year old Cody Brian WARIAS of the Municipality of Meaford was charged with the Criminal Offence of Driving While Ability Impaired – Motor Vehicle (Drug).
He is scheduled to appear in Court on August 11, 2016 in Owen Sound.
