(MUNICIPALITY OF ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On October 2, 2017 at approximately 8:23 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Sideroad 25 north of County Road 19 in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.
Police attended and found a lone male passed out in the driver’s seat of a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck that was still idling on Sideroad 25. A part beer and an empty can of beer were observed in the front console. Police awakened the male who showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for breath tests which he refused to do.
46-year old Joseph Robert GIRARD of Arran-Elderslie was charged with Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol), Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample 254(3) as well as Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
He is scheduled to appear in Court in Walkerton on October 25, 2017.
