(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On July 24, 2014, just after 7:00 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Charing Cross Road, when he observed a Dodge Challenger travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed.
The officer stopped the vehicle and approached to speak with the driver. The officer observed the driver’s attention was directed toward a video which was being displayed on an entertainment device, that was mounted to the windshield directly in front of the driver.
The driver, 24 year old Mohammed ALHARBI, from Toledo, OH, has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
