(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On Saturday, November 16, 2013, just before midnight, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a complaint of a tractor trailer traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 401, near Communication Road.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle which was still traveling eastbound on the westbound shoulder of the highway. Officers spoke with the driver and determined that he had crossed the centre median of the highway.
The driver of the tractor trailer, 26 year old Sukhjinder MEHANGAR, from Mississauga, ON, has been charged with Careless Driving and Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
No injuries were sustained.
