Driver Charged After Collision With Cyclist

(TINY TOWNSHIP) – On August 31, 2016 at approximately 5:05 p.m. members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Simcoe County paramedics responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist.

A grey-coloured Hyundai Sante Fe struck the cyclist at the intersection of Cedar Point Road and Concession 15 West in Tiny Township, ON. The 55 year old male cyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to Georgian Bay General hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the female driver Maryanne CIPP (age 55) of Severn Township, ON has been charged with:

Fail to yield to traffic on through highway contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
