(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Friday June 03, 2011 a Perth County OPP officer stopped a car for driving at an extremely high rate of speed on Perth Line 20 west of Russeldale.
A driver’s licence check of the 19 year old male driver from the Municipality of West Perth revealed that he was prohibited from driving as a result of a previous Criminal Code offence. The male was subsequently charged with driving while disqualified and racing a motor vehicle. He is to appear in Stratford Provincial Court on July 11, 2011 to answer to these charges.
The 18 year old female owner / passenger has been charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive her motor vehicle.
The entire incident resulted in the vehicle being impounded for 45 days.
