(ORILLIA, ON) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Rackets Branch, Health Fraud Investigation Unit have charged a Kitchener Anaesthetist with Fraud in relation to billings from 2010 to 2013 that were submitted to the Ontario Health Insurance Plan and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board for services that were not provided.
Dr. Kulbir-Singh BILLING, aged 63 years, of Kitchener, Ontario has been charged with two counts of Fraud Over $5000 contrary to Section 380(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kitchener on January 27th, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
The Health Fraud Investigation Unit of the Anti-Rackets Branch is comprised of OPP investigators who investigate allegations of fraud relating to the Ontario Health Care System on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
