On December 4, 2013 at approximately 2:40am the Owen Sound Police were contacted to attend the 700 block of 20th Street East in regards to a vehicle that hit a hydro pole.
The investigation revealed that a 19 year old male had lost control of his motor vehicle striking the pole. The vehicle and hydro pole were both heavily damaged however the male was not injured. The investigating officer made a roadside demand which the male failed. Subsequent breath tests revealed the male had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. Hydro 1 was called out and attended to repair the pole.
The male was charged with operating a motor vehicle while his blood alcohol was in excess of 80mg in 100ml of blood and was released with a December 19, 2013 court date
