(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On March 31, 2017, at approximately 10:08 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed northbound on Highbury Avenue North, and conducted a traffic stop near Elginfield Road.
Officers determined that the 57-year-old male driver of the black Hyundai car had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered, but the driver refused to provide a suitable sample of his breath, and he was placed under arrest.
As a result of the police investigation, Donovan RICKETTS, from Lucan Biddulph, Ontario, has been charged with fail or refuse to provide sample 254(2), contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody on an appearance notice and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London court on April 27, 2017.
