(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON)- It was discovered on the morning of Wednesday May 22, 2013 that sometime overnight, property was stolen from a work shop located at the back of a residential property in Mapleton Township. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers attended the scene to investigate. The Forensic Identification Services Unit from Mount Forest attended the scene to assist, and the Wellington OPP Street Crime Unit (SCU) became involved. The stolen property was recovered a short distance away. While investigating the crime, a nearby resident informed police that two suspicious males were located on her property. The investigation revealed that one male made a phone call from the home to his residence, and left the scene. Officers followed this information which lead to a male being charged with the crime.
Donald STEPHENS age 44 of North Perth is charged with Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 19, 2013 to answer to the charge.
