Domestic Disturbance

Date: Thursday, January 23, 2014 – 9:00pm
On the 23rd of January 2014, at approximately 9pm police were called to an east end residence regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival it was revealed that the female victim lives at the residence with her roommate.

Earlier in the evening, the victim’s boyfriend attended the residence and the two became involved in a verbal argument. The female victim tried to walk away from her irrate boyfriend at which time he grabbed her, threw her to the ground and began choking her. The roommate yelled for the male to stop at which time he got off of victim and she was able to run to her bedroom. The male then followed the victim and the argument continued. The male suspect then threw the victim to the ground and began choking her again. It was at this time the victim’s dogs sense of protection kicked in and the dogs began growling and barking at the male.

The male got off the female grabbed one of the dogs began choking it while kicking the second dog. The female victim grabbed the phone to call 911 at which time the suspect male fled the residence.

The victim was taken to RVH by police and treated for her injuries. Officers are aware of the male’s identity and are actively attempting to locate him. Once the suspect is located he will be facing numerous charges including assault, uttering threats and various other charges.

The investigation is on-going.
