Barrie Police were called to attend to a residence requesting assistance regarding a male with a knife. The male was engaged in a heated verbal argument with his girlfriend within the kitchen area over infidelity. At some point the male picked up a kitchen knife and held it up to the victim’s throat.
Upon hearing the altercation in the kitchen, others in the home attended and attempted to diffuse the situation. They continued to tell the male to put down the knife. A struggle ensued and two males in the residence sustained small lacerations to their fingers.
A 37 year old Barrie man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon x 3, weapons dangerous, utter threats x 2, and breach of probation x 2. The accused is currently awaiting a bail hearing.
