On the 16th of November 2014, a 26 year old Barrie male was charged by the Barrie Police Service
for a domestic assault committed on his 25 year old common-law wife.
On the 18th of January 2015, an independent witness attended the Barrie Police service to report they were aware that the same male was involved in an incident with his common law wife in September 2014. It is alleged that back in September 2014, the male and female were involved in a verbal argument when the male suddenly struck her in the back of the head with a closed fist. Officers were able to corroborate the story of the witness with some evidence and subsequently contacted him advising him of the additional charges from the historical assault.
The male attended the station, surrendered himself and was held pending a bail hearing.
