Police were called to an east end home for an early evening domestic disturbance. As the officers entered the residence a male party immediately surrendered himself for arrest.
A 28 year old female reported that her intoxicated common law husband became infuriated over a trivial matter. As a result her husband choked her while she was holding their 1 year old child. When the female barricaded herself in another room to call police, the male started punching holes in the homes walls.
A 30 year old Barrie male was arrested for domestic assault and mischief under $5000. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.
