Barrie Police were called to an Ashdale Rd home for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Police were advised by witnesses, the suspect had become upset at his girlfriend over a trivial matter and began to push her.
Several witnesses attempted to calm the suspect who managed to put the victim into a “headlockâ€Â.
Police were called and the suspect ran from the home.
After searching the nearby area, Police located the male who was arrested for assault and transported to the Barrie Police Service for a bail hearing.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident..
