On the 25th of July 2014, Barrie Police were contacted to attend a residence in regards to a domestic assault. Police attended and commenced with their investigation. The female victim was complaining of injuries she had suffered after being assaulted by her boyfriend. It was alleged that during the incident the female victim was punched and kicked by her boyfriend several times. As a result of the assault the female attended the hospital to seek medical attention.
Police subsequently commenced with their investigation in attempts to locate the male attacker and eventually put a warrant out for the males arrest.
After seeking medical attention it was revealed that the female had suffered serious internal injuries as a result of the attack.
On the 2nd of August 2014, the male turned himself in on the outstanding warrant after learning that police were actively trying to locate him. The 47 year old male was held pending a bail hearing and charged with the offence of Assault causing bodily harm.
