Dog Trapped In Culvert Rescued

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On May 3, 2016 at approximately 2:15 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a dog trapped in a culvert on Hwy. 10 just north of Flesherton in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The German-Shepherd cross dog had entered the culvert but was not able to turn around and exit. The dog then continued moving forward approximately 100 feet inside the culvert until it reached a storm sewer grate where it was heard barking.

The Grey Highlands Fire Department attended and rescued the trapped dog by removing the sewer grate and coaxing it out with some dog treats. The dog, who was not injured, was reunited with her family who had been looking for her.
