(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment Crime Unit investigated a robbery at a Norwich Road, Brant County, Ontario address.
On Friday, April 18, 2014 between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., an unknown male and female attended the Norwich Road address after responding to an ad that the home owner had placed on the internet for Pomeranian puppies for sale.
Investigation determined that the two suspects were let into the residence to view the puppies. A short time later, suspects brandished an edged weapon and then physically assaulted the home owner, causing minor injuries.
Suspects then removed a male and female Pomeranian puppy(s), both described as 8 to 10 weeks old and cream in colour. The suspects fled from the residence to a vehicle parked on the roadway.
Crime Unit officers attended Eastern Ontario and charged a male and female for the robbery and theft of the two dogs. Officers have recovered the dogs and they were returned to the owners.
Joshua MAYNE 26 years of age and Nicole CAMERON 29 years of age from Pembroke Ontario are facing the following criminal charges
Robbery with a weapon
Forcible Confinement
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Mischief Under $5,000.00
The two accused are currently being held before the courts.
