Dog Breaks Vehicle Window To Escape After Joyride

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an incident after being called to Charlotteville Road 5, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, May 10, 2018, at approximately 1:24 a.m., police were contacted by a resident reporting property damage.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a homeowner had taken their family dog and put him inside a pickup truck that was parked in the driveway of the residence. While inside, the dog managed to put the truck into gear which then rolled down the driveway and partially onto the roadway.

The family pet then broke the passenger side window of the vehicle and fled eastbound from the area. The family dog was located a short time later and reunited with their owner.

No injuries were reported as result of this incident.
