Dog Beaten To Death With Hammer – Harold Robertson Faces Multiple Charges

(Lyndhurst,ON) On the 28th of September 2013 Ontario Provincial Police in Leeds and 1000 Islands Township received a call regarding an animal cruelty incident in the village of Lyndhurst.

At around 3:25 p.m. O.P.P officers responded to a call from concerned citizens reporting that they had just witnessed a man beating his dog with a hammer.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the injured dog lying motionless near a pickup truck on the man’s property.

Officers shortly after located and arrested the man responsible for beating the dog.

O.P.P Forensic Identification Unit attended and gathered evidence at the scene.

Harold Robertson 81 years old, of Lyndhurst has been charged with 1 Count of Killing or Injuring an Animal, 2 counts of Cruelty to an Animal, and 2 Counts of Uttering Threats.

The dog had died at the scene as a result of his injuries..

The remaining animals were removed from the residence by the SPCA.

Robertson will appear in Brockville Court on the 30th of October 2013.
