DNA Leads To Arrest Of Erick HANSON

(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On May 3, 2004 Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to investigate a break and enter into a business located on Highway 19, south of Thamesford.

The break and enter occurred sometime between May 1, 2004 and May 3, 2004. At that time the suspect(s) gained entry into the property by breaking a second storey window. Approximately $2,600 worth of cash and tools were taken.

Officers observed blood stains at the scene and it was subsequently seized for DNA analysis. Once the samples were collected, they were forwarded to the Centre of Forensic Sciences.

The collected sample has resulted in a positive match in the DNA Data Bank.

As a result of the investigation, 29 year old Erick HANSON of London was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following:

Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

The male was released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on May 26, 2015.
