On the 2nd of July 2014, at approximately 10pm, police responded to a disturbance in the downtown core. Reports from citizens were that a male was standing in the area of Dunlop and Toronto Street and was yelling that he was going to shoot people. The male was very agitated, kicked over a garbage can and then began walking east along Dunlop Street.
Upon police arrival to the area the male was located on Dunlop Street near Maple. Police immediately approached the male and commenced their investigation. Upon approach officers observed the male drop a marihuana cigarette from his hand. He was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and further investigated. The male was identified and police computers revealed he was currently on a probation order with the condition of Keeping the peace and being of good behaviour.
The male was arrested and held pending a bail hearing on July 3rd. The 40 year old Barrie male will now face charges of Causing a disturbance by yelling, Failing to comply with his probation and possession of a controlled substance being the marihuana cigarette and a small amount of marihuana located in the males pocket.
