(ESSA TOWNSHIP) – On December 14th, 2015, at approximately 2:50 pm, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend at a business located on Highway 90 in Essa Township regarding a disgruntled customer threatening the owner.
Police investigation reveals that following a verbal confrontation with the business owner , the accused, Larry Whittle, age 55 years, of Barrie, Ontario, deliberately drove his vehicle into the side of the building causing in excess of $5000.00 damage.
The Central Region Traffic Unit, and Nottawasaga Detachment Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.
Whittle has been charged with:
Assault with a weapon
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Uttering Threats
Public Mischief over $5000.00
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing later today.
