(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On September 24, 2016 at approximately 7:20 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 26 near Side Road 30 in Centre Wellington Township. The officer observed a male driving a 2008 Hyundai northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
22-year-old Devin ROGERSON of Fergus has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on October 19, 2016 to answer to the charge.
