(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) check located on Main Street West in Listowel resulted in a 22 year old male being arrested and charged with possession of controlled substances. Just before 11:00 p.m. on August 4, 2013 the driver of a white Oldsmobile entered the R.I.D.E checkpoint. Officers spoke with the driver and requested to see his driver’s licence. As the driver was handing over his licence officers noticed a small bag of marihuana inside the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance. A search of the driver and vehicle was completed which resulted in officers locating suspected methamphetamine on the driver along with drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Deric YUNDT (22) from North Perth has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule I (Methamphetamine) and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule II (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Listowel on September 11, 2013 to answer to the charges.
