(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On January 22, 2016, members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a motor vehicle collision on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. During the investigation a passenger in the vehicle gave a statement using a false name.
On January 24, 2016, police observed the same male walking on Seguin Street in Parry Sound. As a result of further investigation, the male was identified as Dennis TYSON, 38 years of age from Parry Sound. He was arrested and charged with:
· Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine as per the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
· Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking given by Officer in Charge contrary to the CC.
The accused was held for bail and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound to answer to his charges.
